When I think of pink I can't help but think about my wedding to my sweet man. Pink was THE color, and it was everywhere.
From the table at the Jam Penny Tea Room in Simpsonville, SC where we had a beautiful and delicious bridal lunch...
to the hats we each got to wear during the tea. The Jam Penny has tons of hats all over the shop, and we had such fun trying on ALL of them. Is this not the most luscious pink hat?? I wanted it. Sadly the big old noggin I inherited from my wonderful mother made my possession and flaunting of this beauty impossible. Sigh...
The beautiful bridesmaids carried gorgeous bouquets in shades of pink by Wayne at Th' Arbor in Laurens, SC.
The cake itself was white, but it was decorated with roses in various shades of pink...I was in LOVE with this cake.
And last but not least I wore a pink dress! (Dang, my man is cute)
I did not set out to wear a pink dress, but during my very first dress shopping trip with my mom I was digging through racks and racks of dresses in shades of white, off-white, ivory, candlelight etc. etc. and there just around the corner next to one of the racks was a mannequin wearing a PINK dress. I actually laughed at it and thought, "That is funny...I gotta try that on." I put it on, looked in the mirror...and the dress search was over. Second dress I tried on; lucky! I am trying to figure out what to do with it now so it doesn't have to live in a closet. Its so pretty, and I want to be able to look at it all the time! If I had a dress form I would display it in my pink guest room (which will definitely make an appearance in a future Pink Saturday post). I've also thought about having a quilt made using my dress and some fabric from one of the bridesmaids' dresses. Any of you have some ideas??
Happy Pink Saturday!
